Jad Abumrad

I make audio stories for a living. And I’m a composer.
I've composed music for film and theater, most recently for the grammy-winning So Percussion and for Port(al), a site specific choral work at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
I've also created a few podcasts - Radiolab, More Perfect, Dolly Parton's America, Unerased, The Vanishing of Harry Pace and Fela Kuti: Fear No Man - which collectively have been downloaded over a billion times.
I've won three Peabody Awards. In 2011, I was named a MacArthur Fellow.
These days, I work as a Distinguished Professor of Research at Vanderbilt University. And I collaborate with my partner Karla on projects big and small.
